two days to just wander around in new york really brought out something special inside of me. ideas, perspective, creativity. so much to look at, sensory overload. the girl singing loudly on the street with her headphones on, like no one was listening. people are all in their own world, with their own thoughts…but everything also feels full of togetherness and community. and then there’s me, feeling a cheesy sense of accomplishment when i travel on the subway successfully without getting lost. walking to my hotel in the pouring rain with a big smile on my face. analyzing everyone’s unique sense of style…the guy with the unicorn tank and cut-off denim and the girls with their wild hair. everyone moving so quickly, so confidently. everything feels so alive. the air is humid but matches the scenery perfectly.
i often think about moving to new york. i feel so inspired here. i wonder if it would have the same effect on me if i actually lived here? for now, i think i’ll just visit as much as i possibly can. did you see we are teaching here again in august? so grateful for the opportunity to keep coming back to this wonderful place.
off to my parent’s house in chicago in the morning. my mom got a new kitten which should be fun. looking forward to the last leg of our east coast blogshop trip. then back to LA for what we are calling our “summer vacation” – taking july off from teaching…which is our first month off in TWO YEARS. crazy. 65 classes under our belt feels pretty surreal.
